WH13: "An Evil Within" Episode Review
Warehouse 13 4.02 "An Evil Within"

STEVE IS BACK! STEVE IS BACK! STEVE IS BACK! STEVE IS OFFICIALLY BACK FOR REALSIES!

BUT SHIT JUST GOT EVEN REALER, YOU GUYS. :O

I mean, just when you thought the show was gonna do something it turns around and does something so unexpectedly awesome, and yet brings the ominous suspense again.

Basically, this season is going to be exploring the heavy consequences of using artifacts for personal reasons. And it seems that it wouldn't matter what those circumstances are, that whenever an artifact is used, even if it seems for the greater good of the world, it might not be so great. And honestly, I quite like that. Especially since there are circumstances that you may find yourself in that you have no other option but to use such an artifact, but there is a high price to pay at the end. We're seeing this with Artie, and Claudia is being threatened by this as well after resurrecting Steve. But things will no doubt be tied together, and believe me this is enough to get anyone anxious for what is to come this season. I really like that they're dealing with the morality of handling artifacts the way they do, and having characters really question the circumstances they are under after using those particular artifacts and what those downsides could include.

I'll be honest, I did think they were going to go longer for Claudia's path (as in, her kind of going a little darker as we saw with her determination to get Steve back) -- however this? This is even more awesome because it means that it's not over. Not for her, not for Artie. It's all connected, and I like that Pete is sensing this and possibly getting a vibe that something just isn't right.

And can I just say that Artie being the only one who remembers what happened and having to live with that, and yet not reveal what he did and what he remembered? I'm sure though with Steve being brought back he will perhaps sense and see through Artie's lies and understand that something isn't right. Kinda like how Pete knows something isn't right, and eventually the truth will come out. But it kind of hurts my heart seeing that Artie can't say anything, and him realizing certain things. Especially his talk with Claudia, because he knows that he's being hypocritical since he, too, used an artifact but he doesn't want to put that burden on Claudia as well. Also kind of warning her because he doesn't want what he thinks might happen to actually happen with her, and it's just such a huge thing for him to keep to himself and it makes me hope that somehow he will get to tell someone, or that someone will figure it out. Because right now he's seriously in a tough place where he is learning that what he did might be a bad thing, that he might have unleashed something horrible, and the only way to stop that horrible thing from happening is to undo what he did to save the Warehouse and everyone in the world, and just seeing him dealing with this by himself is honestly so painful. I just hope that he doesn't have to deal with it alone the entire season.

I really like the mood of this season right now. It's a morality lesson, that even if you get what you want, even by saving everyone that you loved, there is something to pay from it. There are always consequences. Nothing is just that easy, and they are heading into a really interesting place with this arc right now. And it's gonna hurt, but it's gonna be awesome.

Also, something tells me that there's more to what the brotherhood at the Vatican are hiding regarding the artifact. There's always something more.

THIS SEASON IS JUST STARTING OFF SO STRONG AND SO GOOD YOU GUYS, I CAN'T EVEN ARTICULATE MY FEELINGS ON WHAT THIS KIND OF AWESOMENESS IS HAPPENING. IT'S LIKE, THERE WAS COMEDY AND JOKES AND HILARITY, PETE BEING PETE AND MYKA HAS CURLY HAIR BACK (PROBABLY FROM BANGING HER GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE IT'S BEEN THEORIZED THAT STRAIGHT-HAIRED!MYKA WAS HER DEPRESSIVE STATE AFTER LOSING H.G. AND HER BEING BACK TO CURLY HAIR MEANS THAT EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT AGAIN), AND HER BEING SKEEVED OUT BY TENTACLES AND ALL THE LULZ IN THE WORLD WITH THAT KIND OF TEASING FROM PETE, LOL. BUT THEN THERE WAS CLAUDIA EMOTIONAL MOMENTS AND GOD THAT MAKES ME CRY. WHEN CLAUDIA CRIES I CRY OKAY. (AND GOD THAT "PREVIOUSLY ON" PREVIEW STARTED OFF WITH STEVE BEING DEAD AND THAT FREAKED ME OUT AND MADE MY HEART STOP BECAUSE NO, JUST NO, NO NO NO! D: D: D: D:) BUT IT WAS ALL MADE UP WHEN STEVE WAS BROUGHT BACK AND CLAUDIA IS CLAUDIA AGAIN, EVEN AFTER LEARNING THE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF HER ACTIONS. AND THEN THERE'S MORE DRAMA AND OMINOUS FORESHADOWING OF WHAT IS TO COME. THIS IS THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM. YET AGAIN. ANOTHER STORM BREWING FOR THEM. AND SHIT IS GONNA GET SO MOTHERFUCKING REAL, I CAN JUST FEEL IT.

JUST. THIS SHOW YOU GUYS. THIS SHOWWWWWWW.

I'm with you. This season started of phenomenally, and it only promises to get even better.

And Steve! Steve! I almost cried when he woke up, because it is so good to have him back, but also because I know it can't end well.

I seriously don't know how to feel about the situation - in a good way. Everyone is alive and they are a happy family again, except for that damn Damocles sword hanging over everything. Someone should bag and tag that damn thing, and store it away.

That's what I love about this concept. They are actually dealing with the side effects of bringing characters back and the price one has to pay with saving people even under such dire circumstances. Everyone is back together and a huge family again and initially we think that's great, but at what cost? What has been unleashed now that this has happened? How can this be undone without risking losing everyone and everything all over again? This is the biggest thing this season is going to be exploring.

Unlike other shows where they constantly tease with the "characters have died but can come back" but never completely follow up with the consequences of it, this show has been dealing with the tension that something bad is hovering above them because of it. With every action there is a reaction, esp where artifacts are concerned.

This makes me anxious and worried, but excited. You know this show is gonna pull something, you just don't know what. It's gonna be pretty damn amazing, though.
