Fandomosity: Jossverse (Actors), Heroes, Ayumi Hamasaki
December 1st, 2006. It has finally arrived people, the first day of the last month of the year. Also, time to be in preparation for the holiday season, if one hasn't already begun. It is also World AIDS Day; get personally involved and participate in stopping the spread of AIDS that has affected so many people worldwide. The HIV/AIDS pandemic affects all of us regardless of who we are, so please help spread the awareness of this deadly disease.

-♠- Badger, Badger, Badger...: Recently Mark Sheppard (Badger from Firefly) appeared in his reoccuring role on Medium this passed Wednesday, and now it's been announced that he'll be appearing in the last few episodes of Battlestar Galactica. It is said by Ron Moore that Mark will be playing a major role in the finale. I have some speculations on what his character might be, but I'm still anticipating hearing more and seeing him on yet another one of my favorite shows.

-♠- I'm In Ur Internetz -- Gettin' Mah Fame: Michelle Trachtenberg guest-starred on Law & Order: Criminal Intent the other night, playing the character of Willow. The plotline of the episode clearly was a "ripped from the headlines" of the Lonelygirl15 YouTube videoblog fiasco that happened not too long ago. Michelle's performance was really good from what I saw, she held her poise and did fantastically with her performance. Although I'm not really huge on the "ripped from the headlines" plots used in shows, especially since the news coverage of the real thing had me scratching my head in confusion, they did a nice job at wrapping everything together. The ending was nice, and they actually had Larry King interviewing "Willow"! That was neat, and she looked very stylish and pretty as she was plastered on the huge outdoor big screens. And yes, the fake videoblog used in the show was called "Weeping Willow" (oh, the irony). Not a favorite episode per se, but Michelle did a great job nevertheless; if only it had been a Goren episode, would I have been gleeing in joy. Since Michelle guest-starred on House, now all they need to do is get her on Veronica Mars and it would be a perfect world....

-♠- Holding Out For A Hero: Although this may be old news since it was from two episodes ago, there was a recapping of the Heroes episode 1.09 "Homecoming" on EOnline which makes (hilarious) connections to BtVS. Here's the opening words to the entire: "Dear Joss, Love your show—mind if we borrow it? Coolthanks. Yours, Heroes." (P.S. nevermind the picture of the Ninth Doctor on the right of the page).

-♠- Queen of J-Pop: Ayumi Hamasaki has another PV out already from her brand new album, Secret, that recently came out: 1 LOVE. Ayumi is known for having diverse concepts for her videos, especially the creepy ones; this one falls under that category. It sort of a combination of a carnival/sideshow and cabaret. Her other recent PVs that were released were JEWEL and Momentum, both have winter-esque concepts and are extremely gorgeous. Momentum is especially sad, but beautiful kind of sadness.

I'm really looking forward to Mark Sheppard on BSG. Like you, I'm already speculating what role he'll play.

And Michelle was amazing on Law and Order. She definitely did a fantastic job - and the plot was interesting, which is always a bonus. (plus, unfair as it is, she just keeps getting MORE gorgeous as time goes by.

I haven't actually listened to Ayumi Hamasaki, but I randomly checked out the videos you linked, and WOW. I love her voice, even if I can't understand most of what she's sinking! And Momentum, especially, has a gorgeous video.

Ayumi is fantastic. I have like, gazillions of her songs and many of her PVs on my computer. She has a very beautiful, unique and distingtive singing voice, and her latest album has more guitar-based songs (e.g. "1 LOVE"). After I discovered her I wanted to know what she was singing about, and the best site to look up the Romaji and English translations are at Divine Ayu. Ayu writes her own lyrics, which are known for having a certain poetic pattern to them, and reading the translations they definitely speak volumes -- especially when she sings them. I listen to lots of foreign artists, Ayumi is on my list of favorites. ~ ♥

Out of curiosity, what are your predictions of the character Mark's going to portray on BSG? I haven't read any spoilers or things in store for the future, but I'm hoping it has something to do with the final five of the twelve Cylons. I hope, because thankfully it was brought up again this season and I'm wondering what happened to those other five. Not to mention why the others have difficulty talking about them....

If you don't mind (and I'm aware this is vaguely - rude, so ignore me if you wish), would you mind uploading a few of her songs for me? I'd be interested in hearing more, and I can't seem to find any CDs of hers online. And thank you for the link - some of those lyrics are so gorgeous.

I'm thinking along the lines you're thinking - that he's connected to the five remaining Cylons. Part of that is because I can't see how we WON'T see them by the end of the season, considering how much attention they've been getting. (of course, I also love the Cylons immensely, and am dying to know what's going on with the final five - there are so many questions that need to be answered!) The timing of his episodes would probably be about right if they WERE to introduce them - my guess is we would see him in another role first (since this is BSG, maybe even in flashbacks to one thing or another!), and in the finale it would become known that he's one one the remaining Cylons.

Ooh, thank you for those! (I'm sorry this is, oh, a day after you posted them - I've had a busy day and only now got a chance to listen.) I definitely liked all of them them, but especially fairyland and GAME.

Again, thank you! *glees*

You're quite welcome, darling. I could've uploaded more, but I figured those would be enough for you to test the water before jumping in and getting you started. Glad you enjoyed! *g*

So. This is random. But I just wanted to stop by and say that I LOVE that you still do these happy little round ups of info. And I love your titles for them. The "badger badger, badger" one made me laugh.

You rock!

Go you.

Hee! Thanks, sweetie! Random compliments are always nice. Even though I don't update as much as I used to because of real life things happening right now, I always try to at least add fandom news updates, and the titles I make up for these are always fun!
