Do I look like James Bond to you?
Firstly, the latest thefridayfive:

1. If you were going to remake a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
Here's my stance on movie remakes, the only exception for remaking or recreating a past movie is if it's been many years since the original had been filmed and it was either incredibly terrible or low-budget material. Granted there are classics out there that have been grade-B low-budgets, though some films just don't have that kind of luck in their side. However if I were to remake a movie that falls underneath this category, it would have to be Flowers in the Attic; while I did enjoy the 1986 version, more than others I should add, there really wasn't much of canonical substance as there should've been the soundtrack was awesome though. As far as my personal casting is concerned, years ago I imagined Ali Larter as Cathy, but the more I think about it she seems more like the adult version of the character. Instead, the adolescent/teen Cathy I cast either Evan Rachel Wood or Alison Lohman. I have absolutely no idea for the rest of the Dollangangers.

2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
I have the perfect casting setup for Dean Koontz's One Door Away From Heaven, well at least two of the characters anyway. I'd have Caroline Dhavernas as Micky Bellsong and Tatiana Maslany or Conchita Campbell as Leilani Klonk.

3. If you were going to turn a video game into a movie, what would it be? Would it be animated or live-action?
Jesus, what VG hasn't been turned into a movie so far?

4. You're going to turn a book into a TV series. What is it? Why would it make a good TV show?
It was definitely have to be Francine Pascal's Fearless, without a doubt. Ever since reading and rereading the books I've always imagined how it would've turned out as a television series. In my personal view, it would be a mixture of a fast-paced Veronica Mars, 24 and Heroes all wrapped into one, and it would totally be compelling television.

5. Do you generally prefer the movie versions or the novel versions of works?
It depends on which version is done well in terms of the storytelling and characterizations. Usually novel versions are generally more prefered on my part, though sometimes I do come across a film adaptation that is considered much better than its original source.

Secondly, what the fuck is up with MegaUpload lately? I've usually had no problems with it, aside from the occasional annoying popups and "download limit exceeded" crap, but it seems like they've upgraded and added additional nonsense that makes it even harder to work with. Ugh, it's so stupid. I've tried downloading something five times since last night and it won't cooperate, and nobody is reuploading onto another service site. It's just ridiculous.

Yeah, MegaUpload's been stupid lately. I keep getting the download limit exceeded thing when I know for a fact I haven't exceeded it, yet. Annoying me to no avail.

What bothers me more is that there's still many people who insist on using MU as their main uploading source. I'm like, there's other alternatives that aren't a big pain in the ass to deal with. MediaFire is easy to both upload AND download on, and ZShare lets you preview songs/videos before downloading. Those are easier, in my opinion.

Yeah, I hear you. There's other more reliable services, but I guess people just want to be able to track things through MU which is one of the main reasons stuff is uploaded there. *shrugs*

Re: #1
Hmmm, interesting. He could definitely work. It's easy to cast Cathy because I have many actresses that would fit her profile, but for Chris and the twins...they're much harder. Especially the Grandmother, although I did like Louise Fletcher's version of her. She had that stern, fierce look that fit the character perfectly.

I must have watched Flowers in the Attic 100 times when I was younger. I think I was about 5 or 6 at the time and I was so fascinated by it. I agree about Evan Rachel Wood and Alison Lohman....they would be great for the role.

I thought a Fearless television series was in the works at some point?

There was going to be a Fearless TV series way back in 2003, and was supposed to have premiered on the WB but things in the production and characterization weren't working out and didn't go through with it. Although it was set during Gaia's FBI days, so technically it wouldn't have been set in the first Fearless series canon. I watched the unaired pilot online and it was okay, but yeah definitely not canonical.
