My plans for today are generally just kicking back, whilst dealing with other things that need to get done, but otherwise nothing special is particularly lined up. The relatives that we usually have get-togethers on these occasions have moved away and I'm pretty sure are busy enough with their schedules, too. Since there's already been fireworks set off during the last few nights (thanks a lot, Neighborhood of Doom!), enjoying the celebration around me won't be too hard to adapt to this evening. Trouble is, it's probably going to last all night as opposed to New Years when it all happens within the 12:00 hour. I have a feeling tonight the BOOMS! are going to get even wilder.
That being said, I do believe that no matter what you believe in politically or how you feel about America and its current place right now, today is definitely a day to be celebrated. This Independence Day we should really take a step back and look at our history; without it, where would we, Americans, be today? Even though I don't always agree with certain things happening in our society and choices made by our government, I am proud to be an American.
Because I missed doing it yesterday, here's this weeks hmd_tuesdays:
1. You're stuck in a lift/an elevator with someone from the House universe. Who would you rather have for company and why?
Probably either Wilson or Cuddy, obviously. Not only are the two of my three favorite characters, but I feel they are the only characters I would find tolerable in that kind of a situation without becoming annoying or resulting into petty banter or snarkfests
2. Which episode could you watch over and over again, without ever getting sick of it?
Wow, this is a tough question, I really have no idea. There are plenty of episodes I've enjoyed that I wouldn't mind rewatching until I could resite every single line from beginning to end. Yeah, I'm really drawing a blank.
3. Who is your favorite POTW? Why?
Michelle Tratchenberg's character in the episode "Safe", admittingly I'm a fan but it was nice to see her acting abilities taken to another level here. Also, Thomas Dekker playing the extreme religious healer in "House vs. God", since the character was interesting to watch onscreen and his interactions with House and his team. There was also the dying little girl that wasn't afraid of dying, even though she was and it had to be House to really communicate with her on that level.
4. Which episode (or scene) would you pick to remove from all existence?
Possibly all the House/Cameron scenes, including that godamn unnecessary kiss, and all Tritter episodes. I actually couldn't bear watching those ones. Like, we know House isn't necessarily the greatest guy and can be an asshole at times without realizing it, but this Tritter guy was THE BIGGEST asshole on the planet. If anything could've been rewritten about S3, it would definitely have to have been that.
5. What is your favourite Wilsonism?
Hee. Wilsonisms are just hilarious no matter what because Wilson is awesome. Aside from the memorable "I'm on SPEEEED!!", I'd have to say my next favorite would have to be the "this is God" conversation as demonstrated (note, the scene is taken place while House is in the MRI room and Wilson is playfully using the intercom):
Wilson: House, this is God.Seriously, Wilson is all-around made of awesome.
House: Look, I'm a little busy right now. Not supposed to talk during these things. Got time Thursday?
Wilson: Let me check. Oh! I got a plague. What about Friday?
House: You'll have to check with Cameron.
Wilson: Oh! Damn it! She always wants to know why bad things happen. Like I'm gonna come up with a new answer this time.
Season two of Psych premieres next week! I'm so excited!
