Daenerys. Khaleesi.

Fandom: Film News of 2005

L.A. critics name "Brokeback Mountain" best movie of 2005. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, and Anne Hathaway, the film is based upon Annie Proulx's short story about a secretive relationship betweem two gay cowboys and their life-long bond over the years. Although the film has hit mainstream Hollywood this doesn't necessarily mean that America is willing to accept marriage between same-sex partners, unfortunately. Nevertheless, Brokeback Mountian receives a nominee among the Critic's Choice Awards.

My loffly sister, who has been dying to see this film, has literally threatened and demanded my full cooperation advised I keep a look out for when and where the film will be opening up nearby our area, otherwise she'll be driving to Los Angeles herself to view it.

Brokeback Mountain is among other films like RENT, Serenity, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Memoirs of a Geisha, that I'm hoping will become the Best Films of 2005, also get the recognition that they deserve.

Edit: New York loves "Brokeback Mountain"! And the likelihood for going for an Oscar is very, very high. Yay!
