Hey, let's go on a two-minute date.
I'm sure everyone's probably heard about the anti-Joss Whedon/anti-Firefly essay some unmentioned person had written which has fandom in an outrage. Infuriating as it is, I've already stated my piece where it needed to be and I'm not going to add more fuel to the fire. Obviously this person has loads of hatred in their hearts for nitpicking every little detail down to its core to reveal what's not really there based on their own personal grudges and assumptions, and if they're a troll they're doing a stellar job at riling up the large fanbase community. That's all I'm going to say on the subject.

Saw the latest HIMYM episode, and Britney was cute in it! Sure I would've liked her not to come back into the media scene so soon when she needs more time to recover, but she's looking good and healthier than she had been, and looks like she had immense fun with it. Also, Sarah Chalke! Overall, a cute episode.

BTW, does anyone know what happened to valiant? She just disappeared suddenly yesterday, so I'm wondering if I was unaware of something that's going on or what. *is worried*

I think they were just trying to stir up trouble and they did a great job. Its insane that in their profile they welcome all views and ipinions but any comments she got disagreeing with her were deleted

Yeah, I really think she's being an attention-seeking drama queen by deleting comments like that. I wouldn't really mind if she was just ranting on her journal ('cause Lord knows we need places to write) but the fact that she placed this in LJ and another journal she has publically and is dismissing any kind of comments opposing or arguing her views is just for show. *rolls eyes*

valiant'll be back in a few days, she just had to disappear for awhile due to a security compromise. :)

Oh okay, thank you for clarifying that up for me! I was getting worried for a sec. :)

I read the whole thing, and I felt a need to punch something afterwards. And this was after I read her fellow batshit radical feminist's thoughts on yaoi quite literally. Although I did sort of agree a bit with both in the sense that I have a couple of issues with some of the stuff Joss does and some parts of the m/m and f/f community, hell fandom in large, have some serious issues. However, making such broad generalizations especially when you're specifically looking for offensive material is just bad form.

I don't see how it's possible to hate 48% of the human population just because it has a penis. Damn it, I know it's been said again and again, it's extremists like them that make sane feminists look batshit. Heck, I wouldn't call these two feminists to begin with. /end rant

I heard Britney was terrific and I saw a clip of her and she looked better. I agree she should have stayed out of the media until she gets the help she obviously needs.

I know not everyone agrees with Joss on some things, but everything she'd written goes beyond anything of just ranting. This is passed just being extreme and radical, she has officially entered into the territory of the Batshit Insane. I'm not bothering to read the whole thing. It's of the TL;DR category of radical insanity.

Damn it, I know it's been said again and again, it's extremists like them that make sane feminists look batshit.

It's my biggest pet peeve when these radicals take the true definition of feminism and twist it around to fit their own personal agendas of men-bashing or whatever else they seem to think women are being objectified in our society (and I literally kind of shook my head and laughed when this chick said Inara was being raped repeatedly because she was a Companion, a profession she chose herself no less, and having sexual relations with men constantly. I was like seriously? Have you not SEEN the show at all? OMG).

Yeah, I'll stop mini-ranting now. :x

Britney was adorable, and she hardly was the focus of the episode at all, and I thought she did a wonderful job despite what's been happening in her life lately.

I think it's beyond Batshit Insane now.

Forget the fact Inara decides who she will sleep with, man or woman and even got that ass on the blacklist for life.

What really pissed me off was what she said about never seeing a good relationship between a white man and a colored woman. Excuse me but my sister and her white husband are in a good relationship. Sure, they argue about stuff but that happens in all relationships anyway. I wonder what this wacko would say if she knew my sister was the main provider of money. She's also the one wearing the pants in the marriage. XD Oh man, what about my cousin and his wife where again, the woman is the main provider of money? An Asian man and a white woman! OH NO!

Your personal experiences =/= everyone else's personal experiences. *headdesk*

I swear I'm done now!

I need to start watching this show. It's funny, one of my brother's childhood friends looked like Neil when he was on Doogie Howser. XD

What really pissed me off was what she said about never seeing a good relationship between a white man and a colored woman.

That is just a bigoted comment to make, and I seriously cannot believe she would make such an accusation (well, I can, given everything she'd written). It's bad enough that she has to attack Joss Whedon like this, but to say that interracial relationships never turn out good? Wow. I really don't know how to respond to that. She definitely has a few screws loose, that's for sure.

I'm also done with this person. Their narrow-mindedness and stupidity is not worth my time.

Actually, Neil Patrick Harris reminds me of David Anders a little. I have this image of Adam Monroe popping up in a Heroes episode saying something along the lines of "LEGEN-DARY!" XD

Let's just squee over Tahmoh being in Dollhouse! ^_^

I can see the resemblance. I want to write Heroes/HIMYM crossover fic now. Not good at all, especially when I already have a couple of BSG/Heroes plot bunnies in my head. Would it even work?
Renéerogueslayer452 on March 28th, 2008 02:35 am (UTC)

Honey, anything is possible with crossovers as long as the timeline can be worked out. Believe me, I've ran into plenty of crack!fics.

Okay, that person OBVIOUSLY has a serious death wish.

Renéerogueslayer452 on March 27th, 2008 09:17 pm (UTC)
Srsly. It's one thing to have an opinion backed up with logical and reasonable evidence for debate, it's another to simply attack the creator, his personal life and his work for accusations as though everything has a hidden agenda or subliminal message fruity oaty bars! that women are being raped/attacked/discriminated against. Get real, people.

Besides, attacking like this in a HUGE fanbase community like the Whedonverse? Be prepared to get eaten alive.
