BoA'll be EATING UP America
It seems that BoA is going to be making her American debut pretty soon, and apparently this has been secretly in the works for a while now. On one hand I hope she does successfully transferring from Asia to America with ease, on the other hand I'm a bit nervous. I'm going by the judgmental nature of the media and of the American music industry. How far will she go in popularity? How much press release and promotion will she get here? How will she be treated by others? I've been with BoA's career for a while now and I'm fearing they'll recreate her image to fit into the perception of what others are going to have because she's an international popstar. I don't want her to sound generic, I want BoA to still be BoA without stripping away everything that made her popular in the first place just so she's "accepted" into the American mainstream. But I don't know, we'll see how it goes. I'm just praying she does alright here, and on the upside it gains more of an international fanbase!

The official website is up, and it details her first U.S. single "Eat You Up", as well as some background info. The song is catchy, but I hate the US promo they used for it. The Korean teaser is more powerful, crisp and fresh.

So y'all better watch out for her, I know I will. BoA FIGHTING!

It's funny because she's known all over Asia, so being exposed to the U.S. spotlight is going to be interesting. I just hope it does go well for her and it boosts her career more to be internationally known. *crosses fingers with you*

BoA is made of win, indeed. :)

Her song clip reminds me a lot of Britney's Blackout songs... that pop punky thing, you know? I really like it, though... and I can't wait to hear it on the radio!! ♥

That's what I thought, too. I guess they had to Americanize her sound a bit, since the Asian music stream is different from the American ones. Which is funny because aren't most Asian artists influenced by modern American hip-hop/urban/pop sounds anyway? BoA has always been pop, I guess this means they needed to Americanize her pop to fit into the mainstream here....and it makes sense that it would sound like Britney, because the guys that made the song/sound also did Britney's music too.

I know! It's going to be weird hearing BoA on the radio without it being an imported CD. XD
