And this is why I love Joss Whedon, sfm.

Last night's Dollhouse was absolutely fucking legendary, I can't even begin to explain it. Yet I will, because that's how I roll.

I just have to say that the fact that they're really leading up to "Epitaph One" is just so utterly awesome, from the technology to the events happening. I'm quite positive that I wouldn't be this excited if I hadn't known what was to come, because otherwise it would be too confusing. But the fact that we know is helpful and, perhaps this is just a fan thing, but it makes me giddy and smiling that this is the particular road they've been heading towards.

Also, I still really wished they'd started with this mythology from the very beginning instead of the engagement of the weeks because, as much as I love Eliza, the darker mythology stuff is far more interesting and it sets the mystery about what is happening in this universe. That is how you grab an audience's attention, not parading half-naked women around and promoting the show like that's all it is, because it's not. It's far more complicated and complex and this season really brings that to light, and it's awesome and fuck you FOX for not realizing that. /soapbox

As for the episodes themselves, HOLY FUCKING SHIT were they ever so phenomenally amazing and epic.

"Stop-Loss" gave us plenty of Enver/Victor screentime, which yay! We knew of his military background and something had happened which led him to go into the Dollhouse in the first place, and to actually see him, with his real name no less, is so awesome. Since we had Priya's backstory it's nice to see his, Tony's, as well. Although I'll always see him as Victor. He'll always be Victor to us, I think. Also, YAY FOR HIM REMEMBERING SIERRA/PRIYA! THAT WE KNEW HE WOULD. BECAUSE THEIR LOVE IS LIKE WHOA. AND AWW AT THEM MAKING DINNER DATES AND ACTING LIKE AN ADORABLE LITTLE COUPLE, AND THEM TALKING ABOUT THEMSELVES. ♥ SO MUCH CUTENESS.

This episode also gives us a look into other divisions besides the Dollhouse which Rossum is using with their advanced technology, and how utterly scary it is knowing that these people will never leave the system once getting into it. There truly is no escape, and that's terrifying. Also, this particular tech allows soldiers to have a group-mind, seeing and hearing everything, losing one's own identity and individuality. It's like Big Brother, in that way. Hell, Rossum in general is Big Brother, this is like Big Brother's second-half or something. More terrifying notions to ponder, because essentially this is what some corporations do think about, and can you imagine having something like that now? *shudders* I'm very happy that they got Victor out from there, and that Victor and Priya have seen each other as themselves, in their original personalities. Again, with the sweetness.

I have words about Adelle Dewitt, and I have to say that her character is perhaps the most intriguing and threw me through a loop of wondering about her motivations and where her loyalties lie. And quite frankly, she had me going there for a second, and I am SO VERY HAPPY that she really did have a plan of action after all. I don't think I could have liked having cold!Adelle for much longer, because she's not like that at all.

I mean, sure, she's certainly the HBIC at the LA Dollhouse and is very hardass when she needs to be, but she's only one woman against a highly powerful corporation that could easily take her out of the picture just like that (i.e. her being demoted previously was like a reality check to her, putting her in line, so to speak). But knowing that everything that's happened is driving her out of her mind, and she knows that Rossum is very well hiding things, she devised such a plan of action that after it was revealed of her clear motivations of gathering people together, rallying them up as her own little army of soldiers, I was relieved. I never believed Adelle could turn this coldly on her own for people at Rossum, and her taking back her power and going to be fighting back is made of major awesome.

I have this urge to write a meta about Adelle Dewitt, because not only do I love her character, I feel like she needs to have something written up about how her position and her personal feelings clash and are more complicated than anyone thinks, especially this season.

In any case, how wacky-crazy and utterly FUCKED UP is the setup for the Attic? Seriously, I had speculated and thought about what the Attic could be and how the bodies were treated, but I never thought it would be something to that extreme. It was very creeepy and just, omg. Joss, you twisted, demented man, I love you so hard right now.

"The Attic" was just spectacular, I fell in love with everything about it. The Attic itself, for one, was so fucked up and creepy and just the worst nightmare you could ever imagine, but fascinating at the same time because what is revealed about the origins of the Attic, and of Rossum in general, makes it all Matrix-like and terrifying; I mean, being hooked up to computers, all the people in the Attic being the mainframe of Rossum, their fears are fouling the corporation? Just, whoa. Twisted shit right there, y'all. Also the fact that everyone who is set up into the Attic has to relive their worst nightmares, repeating the loops over and over again, is the same kind of scenario of what Hell is like (and it's what Adelle references as well, that it's the kind of personal Hell you think of, and it's true). Dreams, what people are afraid of, their weaknesses and their strengths, human minds in particular are mysterious things. It's a wonder why they experiment and torment people who go in the Attic and use them as fuel, testing their limits.

The dream-sequences were amazing, and since this is Joss Whedon we know he loves having weird/twisted kinda sequences like this. Bizarre, twisted, out-of-place interconnected scenes and situations, adding in the Man with the Rabbit being the cousin to the Man with the Cheese from BTVS, same with having that strange mysterious intruder jumping from mind to mind killing others.

I also liked that they could mind-hop, and everyone hooked up in the Attic are connected through this system. That's pretty dangerous for Rossum, especially when those who are trapped there become aware of this pattern and do what Echo did. Well, it's not like Rossum is a smart corporation anyway, heh.

DOMINIC! DOMINIC AND ECHO WORKING TOGETHER, TEAMING UP TOGETHER! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! And Dominic looking all scruffy and tired and in kinda casual wear too, I loved it so much. I missed Dominic, and since "Epitaph One" I wondered when we'd be seeing him again, because come on, it's Dominic! *shameless Dominic fangirl*

NGL, I KINDA SQUEALED WITH DELIGHT SEEING VICTOR AND SIERRA IN BED TOGETHER! :D Before it turned into dead!Nolan. *shudders*

BTW, the reason why the two Victors fighting looked realistic is because THAT WAS ENVER'S ACTUAL TWIN BROTHER! TWIN. BROTHER. ON DOLLHOUSE. BRB SQUEEING WITH GLEE. :DDDDDD

EPITAPH ONE FUTURE! "THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME"! LOL JOSS USING YOUR BSG FANBOYISHNESS AGAIN, ILU!

Oh yummy, cannibalism. "Enjoying myself" could not have been more ironic, dude. Wow. I kinda love Joss for going in that direction though, he is not shying away from that kinda stuff. Dude was EATING HIS OWN FLESH from his DECAPITATED LEGS. I think I saw this in a film somewhere too (except it was dude eating his own fingers within the sushi, but still, same concept).

Just, pretty episode is pretty. And freaky. Pretty freaky and creepy, but mostly pretty. I am in awe. Also, the dialogue was ON FIRE here, omg.

Again, I will say, Adelle rallying everyone together, including the renewed (and imprinted with his own personality which I knew would happen) Paul Ballard along with Ivy, and having Echo go into the Attic to find out crucial information which would be Rossum's Achilles heel so they can take them down, is just flat out awesome and epic and superb. I should have known this would happen, but it's Joss. Anything can happen inside that brilliant evil genius brain of his.

And this is where they become the Dollhouse Scoobies. ♥ I had first thought that the Echo/Victor/Sierra/November team from last season were the Dollhouse Scoobies, but this just seems much more epic. :D

So, Caroline knows something about Rossum which could potentially harm them, and that is why she was wiped in the first place. That is why Echo is so special, at least one reason. Honestly, I really love self-aware!Echo that I don't know if I wanna know who Caroline is or was before, even if she does hold certain information. I don't hate Caroline, since we hardly know her, but the fact that right now all I can think about is Echo > Caroline, even though Echo is essentially Caroline at the core, you know? Echo is Caroline without all the experiences Caroline had that shaped her to be Caroline from before, Echo has been shaped through her own experiences in the Dollhouse which makes her Echo, not Caroline.

Man, that looks so complicated when written out yet it makes total sense to me, lol.

So who knows what will happen...are they going to fully imprint Caroline into Echo, is Echo that strong to hold all those personalities plus her original personality as well, or is Caroline going to be it if that happens? Because I am wondering how that is all gonna work out, since we don't want to lose Echo + all those personalities which she's able to control now.

I'm also wondering, what exactly did they take away from Paul? His libido? His obsession with Echo/Caroline? They never did say.

Anyway...I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH AND THERE ARE ONLY THREE EPISODES LEFT AND OMG WHUT.

And this is precisely why FOX SUCKS. AGAIN. BECAUSE WHEN YOU HAVE AMAZING SHIT LIKE THIS AND CRITICS RAVING ABOUT IT YOU SHOULD KEEP IT ON THE AIR. NOT CANCEL IT YOU FUCKTARDS. UGH. FUCK YOUR RATINGS SYSTEM IN THE ASS.
