You were right, radon_, I was totally hooked from the first episode and now I cannot stop watching. It's an addiction. I am kinda obsessed now. It's just like, so crackalicious yet so fabulously amazing and just so fucking awesome, with amazing females who kick ass and obligatory male shirtlessness, sword fights, the MORD SITHS and the UNASHAMED BDSM and SEXYTIEMS, magic and wizardry and, oh my God. Love! And this show is produced by Disney people! Well, Disney/ABC Domestic Television really, but still. BDSM + Disney, who would have ever thought, eh?
I'm almost done with S1, but I'm just too excited to wait until then to talk about it.
I just, I cannot articulate how much I'm really getting into this show. I normally don't like excessive fantasy-based things, for example The Lord of the Rings is highly confusing for me even with the movies. But Legend of the Seeker? It's like a combination of Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and Star Wars plus with some added crack and badass females all wrapped into one. I think what drew me was definitely the first scene in the pilot because, anything that has female characters in the opening scene just being badass and awesome is worthwhile for me.
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS KAHLAN AND HER EQUALLY AWESOME OUTFITS PLZ?! I mean seriously, how majorly amazing is she? Not only is Bridget Regan stunningly beautiful, but she kicks incredible ass and I read an interview that she does pretty much all her own stunts. In that fantabulous outfits, too. Having a girl who can kick multiple guy's asses while dressed up in that is like, uber impressive. AND HER HAIR IS PHENOMENAL OMGWHUT. I WANT. HER. HAIR. FUCK I JUST WANT HER ENTIRE WARDROBE, MY GOD. As you can tell, I absolutely love her. I know I have yet to come across Cara, who everyone in the LotS fandom also loves, and believe me from what I can tell she's just as awesome so I'm looking forward to that. But yes, Kahlan is just, omglove I can't even. ♥
Also Richard, the hero to her heroine of the story. I kinda love him, he's definitely learning and means well, and I love that he's all about helping others in peril and it doesn't matter if it's a whole town or just a single person with shitloads of D'Harans on their tale, he wants to help however he can. That's the pure goodness in his heart and what I find so endearing.
ALSO THE RICHARD/KAHLAN LOVE OMG YES. I mean, definitely with the heeding of the warning about the Confessor's powers and all of that, basically afraid of making Richard her zombie love slave forever, but THEY ARE SO CUTE OMG. *draws hearts all around them*
I love Zedd. I really do, he's all kinds of awesome.
HOLY SHIT I LOVED SEEING THE EPISODE WITH DENNA AND OF COURSE BEING INTRODUCED TO THE AMAZINGLY SCARY BUT AWESOME MORD SITH. AND RICHARD BEING ALL CHAINED AND TORTURED, AND WITH THE ~MAGIC DILDOS~ (aka the AGIELS, OMG!) THE BDSM EPISODE WAS ALL SORTS OF WHOA. LOVELOVELOVELOVE.
The entire atmosphere of this show is just gorgeous. Although, it is filmed in New Zealand so of course the scenery would be gorgeous. I'm not familiar with the books the show is based off of, I know my sister has read them (and doesn't favor the later books because of what the author does to do female characters which is saying to me, pass on that and watch the show instead) but I'm not necessarily one for fantasy books. But the entire story is just enthralling, kind of insane and cracky at times, but intriguing. Some of the episodes can be ridiculous in that fun sense ("Puppeteer" was like, omglolwtf) and some were kind of like flashbacks but had some relevance to the plot ("Home" with Darken Rahl entering Richard's head to get him to give up where they hid the third box which, um, it could be interpreted as slashy in some places because of that I guess, idek) and even really sexy ones like the Mord Sith episode and the one with the previous Seeker's spirit possessing Richard and then the previous Confessor's spirit possessing Kahlan and they have EPIC SEXYTIEMS IN RICHARD AND KAHLAN'S BODIES.
ALSO! SLOW-MOTION ACTION WHEEEEEE! LOVE IT! :DDDDD
I also really enjoy seeing Kahlan's powers whenever she Confesses someone. That's always fun, even if the entire concept is scary that whomever she Confesses they immediately fall in love with her and have to tell the truth and do whatever she says no matter what. It must be a burden for her, the poor dear. But necessary for her destiny and mission with Richard. I also love that she can tell if someone is lying, too. Her "you cannot lie to a Confessor" must be a powerful weapon to get people to answer truthfully, at times. I wish I had that. ;p
And uh, yeah, that's all I kinda wanna say at this moment. More will come when I finish the season and start on the second. I guarantee you.
I AM JUST BESIDE MYSELF RIGHT NOW WITH THIS SHOW. I'VE BEEN DOWNLOADING IT AND WATCHING IT AS I GO AND I JUST, IT IS MY NEW CRACK. I LOVE IT. AND DID I MENTION GIRLS OWNING AND KICKING ASS? BECAUSE THEY DO, LIKE A WHOLE FUCKING LOT.
