What happens when you try to play God...
New shows are coming out. Here are my initial thoughts to some of them (no spoilers).

Helix -- I've seen Resident Evil, this is not going to end well. With that said, it's very appropriately creepy, with the subject of epidemics that may result into pandemics, dealing with an unknown deadly virus that has mysterious but serious side-effects, it is something that both intrigues me and makes my skin crawl. Especially the tone of the show, there is something else that is going on and everything is made to be very secretive that not even our main protagonists who had been sent there to investigate seem to know exactly what is up, and it really amps up the mystery of what is happening and why. Ronald D. Moore is one of the executive producers of the show (there was "frak" used once, so in case you forgot who was involved there was that, lol). I am curious to see where all this goes, and it's definitely my kind of genre, so I'm all in on this show.

Killer Women -- I'll admit, I'm only here for Tricia Helfer and Michael Trucco. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't even bother with it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. It's simply a procedural show, with a hilarious southern twang style to it. But again, Tricia and Michael, and even Marc Blucas is in this, plus it has Tricia's character wanting to help women when they've been wronged and wanting justice, and there are some cute moments with her character. We'll just see how this goes. Of course, this makes me want it to have a crossover with Longmire, for obvious reasons. ;)

I must admit, I'm curious about Helix...I do like this sort of storyline so I'll probably watch the pilot to see what it's like :O

Never heard of Killer Women, so thanks for letting me know about that one :)

I didn't know much about it other than RDM was involved with it, so going into it unaware of what I was in far made the viewing experience quite an interesting one. And it's one that I don't regret because it was very good, and I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes.

And you're welcome. :)

Oh, Helix sounds interesting. I think I need to take a closer look at that one. Because apparently I still don't have enough shows to keep up with

lol, I'm right there with you. I'm slowly catching up on my shows and getting into ones that I've been wanting to get into for a while. Adding new ones to that list is gonna make it extra difficult to keep track of things, tbqh. Heh.

And it's very good, at least imo of my first viewing of it. This is the kind of show that can freak me out just from the content presented alone, and there's only one other show that does that to me, and that's Ravenswood. Scifi thrillers are kind of my thing though, so I'm really anxious to see where Helix goes with its story.

I'm really enjoying Helix as well...though to be honest I'm REALLY not feeling some of the main actors (Alan, Sarah, and Julia, UGH)

I liked them all well enough so far, personally speaking. Though to be fair it's only been the pilot, give them some development time over the next several episodes and see where it goes from there.

Just dl'd Helix - after reading what you wrote about it, I'll give the pilot a shot and go from there. I do enjoy that kind of genre overall :)

Killer Women - I also watched it for Tricia Helfer and Michael Trucco. We'll see how it goes as well. But I liked the pilot :)

It grabbed my attention, that's for sure. I like my thrillers and this definitely peaked my interest the moment I realized the concept and what they were doing. I hope you enjoyed it well enough, yourself.

Let's be honest, even if the show isn't that great I'll still watch because of Tricia and Michael. It's what I do for the actors I love and want to support. ;)

I feel like it needs to find its footing more than anything else. So far it's pretty much setting up the basics: this is who this character is, their relationships with these people, this is what they do and the personal conflicts that will arise in the future, etc. So basically, a standard pilot.

We'll have to wait and see how the rest of the season goes and progresses beyond this point.
