There are many copies...
++ The Battlestar Galactica reunion recently happened at the ATX Festival, which there are official EW portraits of the cast who attended. Just viewing those pictures and even seeing them all these lovely together again makes me so nostalgic for the show. BSG has been, and will always be, one of my absolute favorite television series of all time and as I mentioned before I really kind of want there to be a resurgence of the fandom; let people discover the brilliance of the show, get fandom more active again, bring on more merchandising, etc.

++ An official photoshoot with the main characters of Marvel's television series (Netflix's Marvel lineup and ABC's Agents of SHIELD) makes me want there to be a crossover so badly. It won't ever happen aside from maybe possibly making vague references to one another, but a girl can dream. Hell, I've already been having plenty of plotbunnies hopping around for a while now.

++ So the announcement trailer was released regarding the Life Is Strange prequel game, Life Is Strange: Before The Storm. Sadly, it seems that voice actress Ashly Burch, who voiced Chloe Price, won't be playing the character in the prequel due to the prolonged and still ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which Square Enix decided to go with a non-union actress instead. Reading Ashly's comments about this difficult decision she had to make, also about how unfairly voice actors are often treated within the industry in general, it just honestly sucks all around. I admit to not being that knowledgeable on this particular topic, but reading that article and some other ones has given me a bit of a perspective on the sacrifices voice actors have to make.

I finished my 3rd or 4th (I don't remember) BSG rewatch just last night... best show ever, every time I finish it I want to start it all over again, because nothing compares to it!!

And it's so underrated it drives me mad.

(and hi, by the way.. I don't think we have ever really talked, I'm not very active on LJ, I never post, just read my friends' list).

Lol hello there! :p Small world...

I was working on a full rewatch (well starting randomly from early season 2) earlier this year (starting on Inauguration Day as a distraction, blech), but had to stop at the end of season 3 because my shows had begun to air and I was behind. I'm so glad it is on a streaming platform I get again!

Heyyyyy!!

I fell behind wih some of my shows because of my BSG marathon, but I don't care... BSG is better anyway.

I just love this show so much, and it saddens me to read all the criticism and bashing about it, in particular towards the finale, which I adore. Of course, I'm reading old reviews and comments, just because I can and I'm a masochist!! ;)

I've done so many rewatches of BSG I think I've lost count. But I haven't done so in a while, so I think I'm due for another rewatch session. Granted I'm also in the middle of catching up on other shows, but what a better way to procrastinate than watch something I've already seen many times? lol

And it's so underrated it drives me mad.

The thing that gets me is that it's not even an underrated show, because otherwise it wouldn't have been so critically acclaimed and well-known when it was airing. But rather it's become so underappreciated after the show finished. Even on places like Tumblr it isn't even revisited as much as it should be or people aren't discovering it along with other fandoms from before Tumblr and honestly? That makes me so sad and disappointed and slightly miffed, y'know? BSG is such a relevant show, so important and honestly one of the best science fiction shows I've seen, and the fact that the fandom basically just disappeared after the series ended is disheartening. We honestly do need a resurgence.

Yeah, underrated wasn't really the term I was looking for. Underappreciated and overlooked, was what I wanted to say.

I've recently joined an Italian Facebook group of TV series lovers, and BSG is completely ignored by people, comepletely unpopular, as opposed to other seriously crappy shows that people rave about. I try to recommend BSG to people, but they are not really interested. Sad, really.

I guess the genre doesn't help, scifi is often frowned upon by the general public.

Anyway, I'm totally here for a fandom resurgence (I wasn't around when the show was airing, I watched it after it had already ended, unfortunately)!! :)

This is the sad truth, unfortunately. Even when BSG was airing people who were just discovering it, sometimes by accident and other times through other people, they were surprised at how good it was. Genre television in general is often overlooked by many, which is something I honestly don't understand.

Battlestar Galactica is a show I often recommend to people because, not only is it my favorite show, it is just so damn amazing. I try to explain and convince them that even if scifi isn't typically their thing, they'll still enjoy the show. I mean, BSG in general is essentially a space opera, and features many elements that can attract all sorts of viewers. I also try to convince others that if they like Firefly (and for current shows The 100, Dark Matter or The Expanse) then they'll definitely like BSG.
